How many likes did your last Instagram post get? Have you checked? Well you really shouldn't care. I bet it makes you feel awful if you didn't get that many likes. Well, now Instagram has decided that it shouldn't matter. In a small test group of Instagram users, Instagram hid the amount of likes from them. The majority responded positively. Some said they were less obsessed with the number and more posting just for fun. Some users had taken a break from Instagram and came back in time to take part of the test and they reported that they felt loads better about it.

“Without seeing the Likes count on feed posts now, I find myself more clearly focused on the actual quality of the content being posted,” said Matt Dusenbury.

I can agree with this. Some nights I am so worried about how many likes my blog post Instagram shares get and how many people actually look that I just have to turn my phone off so I don't constantly check for an update. It turns out that that is so unhealthy and so bad for your mental health. Now the only downside here is that I also use it to gauge how well a post for my blog actually did. I'd like to be able to do this full time and keep you all updated and informed but it's just not good for anyone to care about a digital thumbs up so much. It's a huge balancing act. I hope the testing goes out to a much wider audience so we can see how well everyone reacts to it.

What do you guys think? Do you constantly check for likes on your Instagram shares? I'm gonna challenge everyone who reads this to ignore it and just let whatever happens happen. I can guarantee you'll feel better. Until later guys and gals.
